Running the salon

Gowabi POS vs SeeU: which platform for salon and spa owners in Bangkok

Gowabi POS is Gowabi's paid salon software, advertised from 832 baht a month and connected to the Gowabi marketplace, which salons join for free. SeeU is both a Bangkok booking marketplace and a salon management app, with a 30-day free trial, then from 990 THB a month excluding 7% VAT.

This comparison covers costs, tools, advertising, client data and running both platforms at once. It uses only what each company publishes, checked in October 2026.

In short

  • Joining Gowabi is free, but you pay a commission on every booking: about 25% on average according to Bangkok salon owners, as Gowabi does not publish its rate.
  • Gowabi POS is advertised from 832 baht a month; SeeU has a 30-day free trial, then from 990 THB a month excluding 7% VAT.
  • Both sell a calendar, staff commissions, receipts and packages tied to their own marketplace.
  • Neither announces a calendar sync with the other, so one calendar must be the reference.
  • Before you rely on any platform, ask in writing whether you can export and contact your clients.

The difference in 3 points

For an owner, three things separate the two platforms. Each one is detailed further down, with its source.

  • What you pay: joining the Gowabi marketplace is free and Gowabi is paid when a customer books. Gowabi POS is a separate plan advertised from 832 baht a month. SeeU starts with a 30-day free trial, then from 990 THB a month excluding 7% VAT, with your page on the SeeU marketplace and the management app.
  • The tools: both sell salon software tied to their own marketplace, with a calendar, staff commissions, receipts and prepaid packages or courses. SeeU also includes a booking website in your salon's name and automatic messages that bring clients back (Premium).
  • Your clients: SeeU keeps a file for every client, with visits, spend, points and notes. Gowabi's partner app shows a client list, and Gowabi has not published a rule on exporting or contacting marketplace customers outside the platform.

Which one fits depends on where your bookings come from: mostly the Gowabi app, or a mix of walk-ins, Instagram, LINE and marketplace that you want in one calendar. You can also use both, as the last section explains.

Commission and costs

The Gowabi marketplace

Gowabi's partner page says joining is free, with no annual or monthly fee, and that the partner pays only when a customer books. Its Thai terms call this payment a commission, a "small percentage" of the service price, paid after the service is delivered. Its July 2026 blog adds that the merchant pays only when the customer actually uses the service.

We found no merchant commission rate on any official Gowabi page in October 2026. Salon owners in Bangkok tell the SeeU team they pay about 25% on average: on a 1,000 THB treatment, that is around 250 THB per booking. Ask your Gowabi contact for the rate in writing before you sign, and work out what it means on your average ticket.

Gowabi's partner page also presents marketing campaigns, such as 4.4 Mid Month Payday, as campaigns you choose to join, and mentions in-app marketing that may cost extra. Ask which discounts Gowabi expects you to offer, and how they add up with the commission.

SeeU

Gowabi POS

Gowabi POS is a paid plan, separate from the marketplace listing. Its page shows two monthly figures without explaining how they fit together, so ask for a written quote. These are the figures the page showed in October 2026.

Salon management tools included

Gowabi splits its tools in two: a free partner app for marketplace bookings, and Gowabi POS, a paid system connected to the Gowabi app. SeeU puts the calendar, checkout, client files and team tools in one app, where bookings from the SeeU marketplace, Instagram and the front desk land in the same calendar.

The table compares what each tool publishes. "Not stated" means we did not find it on the official pages, not that the feature is missing.

Visibility and advertising

Both platforms show your shop in a consumer app where Bangkok clients search and book. Gowabi's partner page claims 8K+ partners, 15+ cities in Thailand and over 1,000,000 visits a month; its July 2026 blog says more than 10,000 partner shops.

Paid visibility on Gowabi

We found no official Gowabi page with advertising rates. The paid visibility we found comes with the POS: the 1-year POS package includes 3 days of hero banner in the Gowabi app and 1 Facebook or Instagram post.

Advertising with SeeU

SeeU runs ads for your salon on Google, Instagram and TikTok. The team makes the photos, videos and texts, launches the ads and adjusts them every week, and you see the bookings they bring in. Influencers can also film their visit, and their videos become your ads.

Who owns the client relationship

On any marketplace, a new client first finds you inside someone else's app. What counts is what you can see, keep and do after the first visit.

On Gowabi

The partner app shows a clients list with client and booking details. We found no published rule on whether a merchant can export marketplace customers or contact them outside Gowabi. Gowabi also runs its own loyalty programme for customers, who earn cashback on bookings, up to 5% at the Diamond tier (20,000 baht spent a year).

On SeeU

  • A file for every client, filled in at each visit: visits, spend, notes, next appointment
  • Loyalty points earned at your shop
  • Win-back, birthday and promo messages to your clients (Premium)
  • Online deposits paid through Stripe straight to your shop's Stripe account, per SeeU's terms (Premium)Your client list stays yours: SeeU exports it to a CSV file from the web app, and imports one from a CSV file too.

Using both platforms at once

If you keep your Gowabi listing and add SeeU, plan your calendar first. Neither SeeU nor Gowabi announces a calendar sync with the other: Gowabi's published integrations are Gowabi POS with its own marketplace, and Reserve with Google. Without a sync, the risk is the same stylist booked at 2 pm in both apps.

The fix is one reference calendar. Here is the routine we recommend with SeeU:

  1. Set up every staff member in SeeU, with shifts and days off.
  2. When a Gowabi booking notification arrives, add it in SeeU right away as a front-desk booking.
  3. When a stylist is full in SeeU, close that slot in Gowabi's time-slot management.
  4. Check both apps when you open and again at midday.

To set this up on your own calendar, book a free 30-minute demo, online or at your salon.
