POS system Thailand: how much a POS costs for a salon or massage shop

In Thailand, POS software for a salon costs from nothing to 2,990 THB a month for the plans with a public price, and hardware adds from a few hundred baht for a cash drawer to almost 20,000 THB for an all-in-one terminal.

The sticker price is only part of the bill. Payment fees, receipt paper and the work a retail POS leaves undone (bookings, staff commission, prepaid packages) also cost you. This guide breaks down each cost and compares the public prices of Loyverse, Ocha, Qashier, EasePOS and SeeU, as published on their own pages.

In short

  • POS software for a salon in Thailand costs from free to 2,990 THB a month for plans with a public price.
  • Hardware adds from a few hundred baht for a cash drawer to 17,990 THB for an Ocha POS Lite terminal.
  • Payment fees, SMS credits and add-ons belong in the yearly total.
  • A retail POS handles products; a salon POS also links bookings, staff commission and packages.
  • SeeU starts from 990 THB a month excluding 7% VAT, with the POS (Premium) and a 30-day free trial.

What a POS is and whether a salon needs one

A POS (point of sale) is the system you use to take payment. It builds the bill, records how the client paid, prints or sends the receipt and adds up the day's sales. In a salon, it replaces the cash book and the calculator at the front desk.

A salon POS has to do more than a shop till, because a salon sells time and treatments, not only products. It needs to know who did the treatment, what was booked and what the client already prepaid.

What a salon POS adds to a retail POS

  • The bill starts from the booking, with the service and staff member already on it
  • Staff commission is counted on each sale, by percent or fixed amount
  • Prepaid packages and credit wallets are deducted at checkout
  • Client history and loyalty points update at every visit

If you only sell a few products, a simple till is enough. Once most of your revenue comes from treatments booked in advance, you need a POS that reads your calendar.

What goes into the cost of a POS

The real cost of a POS has five parts, and the pricing page usually shows only the first one.

  1. Software: free, monthly or yearly, often with paid add-ons for staff or reports.
  2. A device: the tablet you already own, or a terminal sold with the software.
  3. A receipt printer and paper, if clients want paper receipts.
  4. A cash drawer, if you take cash.
  5. Fees on card and QR payments: PromptPay QR payments are free for most shops today, though banks are discussing a merchant fee (Bangkok Biznews, October 2026). Card payments carry a fee set by your bank or payment provider, for example 3.65% + 10 THB per card payment with Stripe Thailand.

Tablet prices vary too much by model to quote one figure: as a guide, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 launched in Thailand from 6,990 THB (Sanook, 2023), and the 11-inch iPad starts at 16,900 THB on apple.com/th.. Subscriptions also come with extras such as SMS credits; EasePOS, for example, charges 0.8 THB per Thai SMS credit.

Example: the first year on a monthly plan

A salon paying 990 THB a month spends 11,880 THB on software in year one. Add a 3,900 THB cash drawer (the price on EasePOS's equipment page) and the cheapest receipt printer listed below, and the first year passes 18,000 THB before the tablet and payment fees.

Thai marketplace listings give an idea of what the hardware costs when you buy it separately:

POS prices compared: Loyverse, Ocha, Qashier, EasePOS and SeeU

The table below compares the five tools on the prices they publish and on three salon functions: appointments, staff commission and prepaid packages. Prices come from each official page or a reseller listing, checked in October 2026; "not public" means the source says nothing.

What the table cannot show:

  • Loyverse is free, and the free plan includes loyalty points; sales by employee is a paid add-on
  • Ocha is sold as a restaurant system, with 3 months of software included with the device
  • Qashier's Thai plan prices come from pages more than a year old and need re-checking
  • SeeU starts from 990 THB a month excluding 7% VAT; the POS (Premium) covers checkout, receipts and VAT invoices, as shown in the SeeU plan prices

SeeU's checkout runs on a tablet: in the SeeU app it prints receipts straight to a network (Wi-Fi or LAN) thermal printer that uses ESC/POS, or a Star TSP100, and opens a cash drawer plugged into that printer when a sale is paid in cash. In a web browser, receipts go through the usual print window..

Retail POS vs salon POS

A retail POS is enough when the bill is a list of products: a shop selling cosmetics, or a salon where treatments are a small share of sales. Loyverse's free plan, for example, covers checkout, essential stock and loyalty points.

It falls short when your day runs on appointments. The booking sits in LINE or a paper agenda, the bill sits in the POS, and someone has to match the two by hand: which therapist did the 90-minute massage, whether the client used session 4 of 10, how much each person earned this month.

Signs you need a POS linked to bookings

  • Most of your revenue comes from booked treatments
  • You pay staff a commission per treatment
  • You sell packages of sessions or prepaid credit
  • Clients book online, by LINE or by Instagram
  • You want automatic reminders to cut no-shows

A salon POS joins the calendar and the till: the booking becomes the bill, the package count goes down by itself and the commission is recorded on the sale. In SeeU, services, products and memberships go on one bill per client, and payment by cash, card or transfer produces the VAT receipt.

Choosing the right POS for your shop

Before you compare prices, answer these six questions. They tell you which tools belong on your shortlist.

  1. What share of your sales comes from booked treatments versus products?
  2. How many staff need their own login, and are they paid commission?
  3. Do you sell packages, prepaid credit or memberships?
  4. Do clients book online, and where: LINE, Instagram, Google or a marketplace?
  5. Will you use your own tablet, or buy a terminal, a printer and a drawer?
  6. What is the 12-month total: software, add-ons, hardware, SMS and payment fees?

For a massage shop where therapists earn per treatment and clients buy packages, questions 2 and 3 matter most. Our page on POS for massage shops shows how SeeU handles both. For a nail salon, look at the booking side first, since each set takes a set time from one technician: see the nail salon POS page.

To see the full checkout, look at the SeeU salon POS page, then test it with your own services during the 30-day free trial.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a POS plan per month?

It ranges from free to 2,990 THB a month for plans with a public price. Loyverse is free with add-ons from 5 USD a month per store, EasePOS costs 990 to 2,990 THB a month, and Qashier's service-shop plans were listed at 7,990 to 11,990 THB a year excluding VAT. SeeU starts from 990 THB a month excluding 7% VAT, with the POS (Premium) and a 30-day free trial.

Can Loyverse be used for a salon?

For checkout, product sales and loyalty points, yes: these are in the free plan. Loyverse's own pages list no appointment, per-treatment commission or prepaid package function, so bookings stay in another tool. Tracking sales by employee is a paid add-on.

Do I need POS hardware or can I use a tablet?

You can start with a tablet: SeeU's checkout runs on one, and Ocha says its system links from your tablet to the cashier. Add a receipt printer and a cash drawer if you take cash; marketplace listings show printers from 2,354 THB and drawers from 319 THB. An all-in-one terminal such as the Ocha POS Lite costs 17,990 THB.

What features does a massage shop POS need?

A calendar per therapist, staff commission counted on every sale, and session packages deducted automatically at checkout. It should take cash, card and transfer and issue VAT receipts. Automatic reminders help cut no-shows.

Does SeeU include a POS?

Yes. The POS (Premium) covers checkout, receipts and VAT invoices, with services, products and memberships on one bill per client. SeeU starts from 990 THB a month excluding 7% VAT, with a 30-day free trial.
